Black Moon Describe The Personal Process Of Making Their 1st Album In 16 Years
An eclipse is a rare event in the sky, which is why people pay attention when they happen. In more than 25 years, Black Moon has only released four albums. One of the most influential and highly-respected Hip-Hop groups takes its time and waits for the right circumstances to happen. That is precisely the case with 2019's "Rise Of da Moon." Buckshot, DJ Evil Dee, and 5ft reunited in the studio for their first album since 2003. As they tell AFH TV, this latest collection of songs deals with some darker times going on behind the scenes. Thus, Black Moon's light offers guidance to three men who have known each other since high school.
In this conversation, filmed in Manhattan's Madison Square Park, Buckshot describes how his flow has evolved to deliver substance like a conversation. DJ Evil Dee explains how he and his brother Mr. Walt used some of the same Beatminerz secret formulas from "Enta Da Stage" while evolving their mixes to fit today's headphones. Meanwhile, 5ft traces his lyrical growth since the early days of the group. The General details his integral role in the group, which created a lane for so many other MCs in the Boot Camp Clik.
