Kool Keith is an artist with many renowned aliases: Dr. Octagon, Dr. Dooom, Black Elvis, and Tashan Dorsett, to name a few. Produced by The Beatnuts' Psycho Les, "KEITH" is a fitting title for an album that Keith says allows him to express himself differently.
Keith speaks to AFH TV at his Bronx, New York studio. In the conversation, the highly-innovative MC describes why this environment led him down a path of imaginative, Sci-Fi songwriting. He explains how he has stayed sharp after 35 years on wax, and pulls out a backpack filled with hundreds of pages of lyrics that he carries with him all the time. Elsewhere in this one-hour interview, Kool Keith opens up about his love of baseball, the powerful impact of the Ultramagnetic MCs' "Ego Trippin'," and how the songs on "KEITH" align with his interests and worldview.
